When can pro shops reopen?
While courses across Britain have been allowed to reopen, golf pro shops and clubhouses are yet to get the all clear.
But it looks like the former will at least be able to open their doors again after the Government gave all non-essential retailers in England the go ahead to begin trading from June 15 as part of plans to further ease the lockdown.
This includes pro shops that, until now, have only been open for the purposes of paying for green fees.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “From June 15, we intend to allow all other non-essential retail, ranging from department stores to small, independent shops, to reopen.”
As with courses, all pro shops must adhere to strict guidelines that include social distancing and hygiene standards.
Shops will also be encouraged to use perpex screens to separate people, and rearranging layouts to encourage one-way systems.
The guidance also says that “no one is obliged to work in an unsafe work environment”.
