Golfers in England returned to the course as clubs reopened following the easing of the lockdown. And there was even a maiden ace for one lucky punter
Golf is back – and you couldn’t wait to share your joy at getting back to playing the sport you love.
Clubs in England reopened today for the first time in nearly two months after the UK government eased some elements of the coronavirus lockdown.
Precious spots went in minutes in the face of unprecedented demand all over the country and, socially distanced of course, golfers flocked to their course to tee it up on re-opening day.
Plenty of you took to social media to spread the happiness and here are some of the best posts we’ve seen as golf gets back to business.
And how about this for a way to get cracking?
No joke, my first shot after lockdown, the first hole @styalgolf and my first ever hole in one!!!! I apologise to everyone who knows me as this is what I will be talking about for the next 5 years #golf#golfisback#lovegolfpic.twitter.com/fXIBoTMjJB
The Captain gave up the honour of first shot back to Dr John Smiddy who for last 3 months has been working in intensive care with Covid 19 patients. Very proud of the work you and your @NHS colleagues continue to do, thank you. Happy to report he nailed it down the middle! #Golfpic.twitter.com/5eBeOEMJ4n
