Fantasy Golf: Who to pick for game week 3?

We pick out some of the top players in action this week to help with your Fantasy Golf selections

There’s two more scoring events in game week 3 so it could be a chance to make up some lost ground our pull clear of your peers in your own mini-leagues.

Here are the current top 5 in the overall game

1. Cuetipuk – 3954
2. TONYSTEAM – 3665
3. BLACK CAT OF MACHRIHANISH – 3604
4. Kebabs hackers – 3524
5. Greens Greats – 3502

There’s plenty of time left to challenge for the the main prizes but don’t forget there are superb Nike prizes up for grabs each month.

The European Tour stays in China for the Volvo China Open while the PGA Tour heads to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Let’s start in China where we have a number of European heavyweights looking to secure world ranking points ahead of the WGC-Cadillac Match Play the following week.

Defending champion Alexander Levy is currently in 60th place but will be looking to cement himself in the all-important top-64 with a repeat of last year’s heroics.

Mikko Ilonen, Tommy Fleetwood, Ross Fisher, Ritchie Ramsay and Pablo Larrazabal are all within touching distance so will have that added motivation to do well at Tomson Shanghai Pudong GC.

Fleetwood finished in second place last year, four shots behind Levy.

Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat will be full of confidence after last week’s victory at the Shenzhen Open so could be the man to secure you some points in week 3.

Among the other proven winners teeing it up in China this week are Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Edoardo Molinari, Gregory Bourdy, Robert Karlsson, David Howell, Chris Wood and Nicolas Colsaerts.

Spain’s Cabrera-Bello carded a top-10 finish in last year’s event and Frenchman Bourdy secured a place in the top-20.

America’s Peter Uilein came close last week, while David Lipsky and David Horsey are both capable of adding to their trophy cabinets.

We’ve got another bumper field in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where South Korea’s Seung-Yul Noh is the defending champion.

Australia’s Jason Day tees it up for the first time since The Masters along with Americans Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley.

Kevin Kisner, who lost out to Jim Furyk in a play-off at the RBC Heritage, is back in action at TPC Louisiana.

England’s Justin Rose, fresh from a T2 at The Masters is back in action along with Ryder Cup teammate Jamie Donaldson.

Other European hopefuls include Jonas Blixt, Russell Knox, Martin Laird, Gonzalo Fdez-Castano and Bernd Wiesberger.
