Abacus Gullane Warm Mittens

Sometimes less is more, and the Abacus Gulland Warm Mittens prove that theory very well. The simple one size, one colour design of these mitts is what a lot of golfers are after, and the design can’t be grumbled about. The all-black design features a blacked-out Abacus logo on the cuff of the mitt which looks very smart.  

The elasticated cuff helps hold heat in the glove, and inside, there are slots for each finger. There is a brushed fleece lining, which is very soft but not overly fluffy. There is still plenty of warmth provided by these.  

Although these gloves aren’t listed as being showerproof, the outer coating can certainly hold up well if you’re caught in an unexpected shower.  

If you’re partial to losing things, these mitts come with clips so that you can keep them together/attach them onto your bag rather than squashing it all inside.

TaylorMade Cart Mittens

Warm mittens really are vital when playing on a cold day.

The TaylorMade Cart Mittens are thoughtfully designed. They have a nylon outer shell and a thumb and palm insert for extra grip.

They have a thinsulate lining, which makes them warm and comfortable. The elastic cuff closure looks quite tight but allows your hand in and out very easily.

From what I can see, they come in one size, but they are extremely roomy and would fit all but the most enormous hands.

Sunderland Thermal Mittens

These winter mittens from Sunderland are unisex, coming in one size and colourway. The first thing I noticed when putting them on was how much longer they seemed to be than mitts that I’ve previously owned.  

Sunderland has added in a storm inner cuffs that are an extension of the mitt with a soft shell feeling. These mitts are showerproof, meaning that there is no need to compromise warmth on rainy days. Inside, they have Heatweaver thermal brushed fleece lining, which is very soft and provides lots of warmth.  

The thing that baffled me the most was the velcro that was located under on the mid palm. After some research, I discovered that this was a hand warmer pouch which I’ve never seen before but is an excellent addition.

Stuburt Winter Mittens

The first thing you notice with these winter mitts from Stuburt is the size. They are Large with a capital ‘L’! This is both a benefit in that they are very easy to put on and take off, but the downside is that they feel a bit loose which makes them less insulating.  

The ‘mitt’ design has a thumb compartment separated from the rest of the fingers, rather than individual finger slots as you find with some mitts. This has the advantage that it’s easy to use a handwarmer should it be really cold. Personally, I prefer mitts with individual finger ‘slots’. 

There’s a choice of two colours. The inner lining is soft and fleecy, and there’s a durable water-repellent fabric covering the palm and thumb which makes the glove showerproof as well as breathable and windproof.

Oscar Jacobson Winter Mittens

Whilst nobody wants to admit it, winter golf is just around the corner. Today I got the pleasure of testing the Oscar Jacobson winter mitts. Whilst the weather was cool and perhaps didn’t warrant a pair of mitts, they were still great to try.

Firstly, they look great, plain colour with some stylish Oscar Jacobson branding. Really easy to keep together thanks to the helpful clip to keep them as a pair. The knitted cuff with wind resistant fabric made it extremely easy to slip them on and off when preparing for a golf shot or putting them back into your bag if no longer required. The anti-slip resistant palm is a nice addition to the mitts as well, the grippy material was ideal to keep hold of your belongings instead of juggling your phone, tees and balls through cotton mitts.

All in all, a really nice addition to your golfing wardrobe. Perfect for winter golf and even outside of the golf course when the winter weather arrives.

Under Armour CGI Cart Mitt

An absolute essential if you’re planning to tackle the course during the winter months. 

The mits contain Under Armour’s ColdGear Infrared lining, a soft print on the inside which holds your body heat. This technology offers a warm, comfortable feeling. 

Featuring a palm texture, the mits make it easy to hold on to your trolley or other items without worrying about wear and tear. 

The lengthened wrist cuff ensures you can securely fit them over your mid-layers and jackets to keep the cold temperatures out. 

I’m usually a large or XL glove size but found these mits to be on the larger side in length so I’d suggest going to the size down when buying them. 

However, the larger fitting is a positive, as it allows you to easily take the mits on and off when you need to take your shots.

Motocaddy Deluxe Trolley Mittens

This has to be one of the simplest yet greatest winter golf accessories. Say goodbye to cold hands holding your trolley with these Motocaddy mittens.

They easily attach to your trolley handles to keep your hands warm while steering your clubs around the course. There is a small opening to allow your thumbs out so you can control the speed of the trolley and stop and start the power.

They have a really thick fleece lining, which makes these exceptionally warm. There is also added room at the ends to add hand warmers should that be required.

If you do decide to carry some days, these can still be used without the trolley, but both hands are attached together.

Adidas Golf Winter Mittens

These are really warm and comfortable golf mittens, mainly down to the polar fleece lining inside, which provides a lot of warmth.

The one size fits all size worked nicely and there was enough room left to add a hand warmer if the temperatures drop really low.

They have a gripper palm texture, which I found was helpful when taking things in and out of my golf bag and for keeping hold of my trolley.

The elastic around the wrists is adjustable so you can get the perfect fit and keep the cold out. This elasticity also makes the mittens easier to get on and off.

Both gloves can be clipped together, which is excellent for storage.

These are not fully waterproof but are water resistant enough to work really well in a light shower.
