When is the… 2017 Turkish Open?
The Turkish Open returns for its fifth instalment as players on the European Tour will be looking to climb the Race to Dubai leaderboard.
This year the tournament is part of the Rolex Series which offers a minimum prize purse of $7million and offer more points towards the Race to Dubai.
Here is the lowdown one of the more important tournaments in the European Tour season.
A brief history of the Turkish Open
The Turkish Open began in 2013 and for the first two years it was the penultimate tournament on the European Tour calendar.
Victor Dubuisson, Thorbjorn Olesen and 2017 US Open champion Brooks Koepka have all won the tournament.
Did you know…
Dubuisson has won the tournament on two separate occasions and holds the record for the lowest 72 hole score at the tournament. At the inaugural tournament the frenchman shot 24 under par.
The tournament was the first to allow players to wear shorts during practise round at the 2013 tournament when Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods were in town.
Where is the 2017 Turkish Open?
The 2017 Tukrish Open will be held at Carya Golf Club which is located on the south coast of Turkey in Belek and is around 30 minutes away from Antalya airport.
When is the 2017 Turkish Open?
The tournament will be played between 2nd-5th November.
Who is the defending champion?
Thorbjorn Olesen won the tournament in 2016 with a score of 20 under par. The Dane won by three strokes with David Horsey and Li Haotang finishing tied for second.

Matthew has been playing golf since he was around 13 and took up the game at a local nine-hole municipal course with his friends before joining Pontefract & District Golf Club just over the hedge.
