Course Information

Many of the leading Scandinavian courses are found within large multi-course clubs – and this is one such example.

Holstebro has the Forest course that is in our Continental European Top 100 but also the Stora and Park, as well as two pay-and-play options (the Meadow and Frog).

The Stora was designed by Poul Erik Hingebjerg and sits on hillside terrain while the Park is a nine-holer that is short but made testing by being threaded along narrow fairways lined by trees.

It is the Skovbanan – or Forest – which is the No.1 here, and one of Denmark’s finest courses.

Its name gives a very good summary of what to expect, and it you are imagining a tranquil experience among mature woodland you are quite correct.

It takes its name from its location in the beautiful forest at Råsted, seven miles west of the the town of Holstebro in the middle of Denmark.

Its name gives a very good summary of what to expect, and it you are imagining a tranquil experience among mature woodland you are quite correct.

You play each hole in glorious seclusion as the trees act as natural shields between other golfers and the club is proud that the only chance of your concentration being broken is deer running across the fairways.

Designed by Eric Schnack in the 1970s, it hosted the Challenge Tour  in 2009 and pockets of heather provide dashes of colour among the greenery of the trees and fairways.
