Mackenzie Hughes has won twice on the PGA Tour with his latest win coming at the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship. He defeated Sepp Straka in a play-off to claim his first victory on tour since 2016. His first win came in his rookie season at The RSM Classic.
Hughes is a Ping staff player and carries a full bag of Ping equipment. So let’s take a look at the full Mackenzie Hughes WITB…
A look inside Mackenzie Hughes’ bag
The Canadian has a fairly conventional set-up in his bag. His driver of choice is the 2025 model Ping G440 LST. Interestingly, he has continued with the 9 degree club head in the 2025 model compared to the 10.5 degree head he use to game in the older Ping G425 range.
Hughes uses two G430 fairway woods but this time in the Max model. He chooses to carry a 3-wood and a 7-wood. We have seen a lot more tour player switch to high lofted woods lately as they help stop the ball quicker on firm, fast greens.

Hughes uses a combo set of irons, with his longer irons being Ping i210s for extra height and forgiveness. From 7-iron down to a pitching wedge, he uses Ping S55 irons.
He currently has three of the new Ping S159 wedges in play. Interestingly since transitioning into these from the previous Ping Glide’s he has opted to swap his most lofted wedge from a 60 degree, to a 62 degree. That should certainly give him some stopped power.
He rounds out his Ping hardware with a Scottsdale TR Piper C putter. This is a centre shafted model which was first released in 2013.
A Titleist Pro V1 is the only non-ping piece of equipment Hughes plays with.
