So first impressions, I absolutely love the look of these shoes. I haven’t felt worthy to wear a classic styled golf shoe until I got my handicap down to a single figure (just had to drop this in) but now I’m here I am going to lap it up. There obviously isn’t a rule that you can only wear this style at a certain handicap but perhaps I wanted to play the part before I looked the part, and these look brilliant.
The shoes are extremely comfortable to wear, straight from the box onto the course there was no uncomfortable transition. The cushioned interior helps with this, and the lightweight of the whole shoe makes for a really easy walk around the course. G/Fore have installed a lightweight eva midsole to help with both the flexibility and comfort of the shoe which is very noticeable from the start of your round.
On a performance side of things, G/Fore have spared no expense. Throughout the rounds of golf I played when testing these shoes there was a comforting feel in stability and traction from the shoe. Even in a couple of obscure foot placements you can put real faith in the shoes to keep you square.
According to their website, this is due to a technology developed by G/Fore themselves call the G/Lock technology. It is basically an advanced version of securing the shoe to the sole in a locking mechanism to help with the overall support of the shoe.
The G/Lock tech combined with the soft-spikes that come as part of the product also offer considerable traction for both walking and swinging the golf club.
Admittedly I have only played three rounds of golf in these so a comment on the durability may be slightly early, however the solid sole and TPU material does offer a sense of robustness straight away. The material is easily wipeable, waterproof and the shoes even come with a fresh set of laces so they can present well for even longer!
NCG final verdict
To summarise, these shoes offer a fantastic combination of style and functionality for any golfer in the market for a new pair of shoes in time for the new season.
They are durable, comfortable and I do believe they are one of the best looking products on the market going into the 2025 season.
I perhaps wouldn’t want to use them as winter shoes to prolong the clean presentation but I will certainly be using these as my staple shoe through the summer of golf ahead.
