The PXG Allan putter is one of the latest additions into the ever growing zero torque category. It offers enhanced stability, impressive aesthetics, and superb short-range performance. Although it takes some getting used to on longer putts and the grip could be improved, this putter is well worth considering for players looking to improve their consistency on the greens.

The Allan putter isn’t just about the performance it is also a pretty extraordinary bit of design. Its multi-material hollow body construction combines different metals for optimal weighting and a sophisticated visual profile. I love the black-to-silver contrast and it is more than just eye-catching, it also helps ensure you’re lined up correctly over the ball.

NCG Verdict

During testing, I found the Allan excelled inside eight feet. The long alignment line, stretching from the face to the rear, makes short putts feel almost automatic. I have found it to be rare to find a putter that combines ease of alignment with such face control, and the Allan hits that sweet spot confidently.

However, I am under the belief that longer putts do require a brief adjustment period for most club golfers. The weight distribution that aids consistency on short strokes can initially feel unfamiliar when gauging distance.

Although, like most things a little practice goes a long way, and once acclimatised, the Allan proves itself across the green.

Another bonus? The hidden pick-up pocket on the sole is a nifty feature that lets you scoop up short gimmes without bending over. It’s the sort of small detail that shows PXG’s attentiveness to player experience.

Final Verdict

Overall, the PXG Allan is a serious contender for anyone intrigued by zero torque technology or simply in search of a high-performing, high-tech flat stick. It blends premium build quality with genuine putting benefits, particularly for those who value alignment and face stability.

For me though, if PXG could improve one thing, it would be the grip. While it is still very much useable, I just don’t think it quite matches the premium feel of the rest of the putter. A simple upgrade here could complete what is otherwise a near-flawless offering.
