Callaway Mavrik hybrids: First Impressions

It’s really easy to see the variety in shaping across the hybrid range from square-toed look to a more cambered fairway wood shape. Instantly the pro model caught my eye as it is more compact and rounded.

Callaway Mavrik hybrids: The Technology

For the first time AI technology has come to hybrids providing optimised faces for each model and each loft across the hybrid range. Flash Face SS20 is made from high strength steel and is combined with jaibreak technology and face cup for faster ball speed across the face.

The Mavrik Max, the most forgiving model in the range, is available from 8-iron to 3-iron for golfers who want clubs that launch easy throughout the bag.

Callaway Mavrik hybrids: NCG Verdict

The different styles in this range mean there is definitely going to be a club that appeals to you. For me that was the pro model as the smaller shape and more penetrating flight suited me.

Personally in a hybrid I’m not looking for maximum distance I’m looking for controlled distances and flight that will get the ball landing softly on the green. I was really impressed with the dispersion especially the front to back consistency.

Having said that I was really happy with the carry distance I was getting flying the 20° Mavrik Pro hybrid 189 yards.
