Powakaddy C2i GPS vs. Motocaddy S1: First impressions
Powakaddy C2i GPS vs. Motocaddy S1. Aesthetically, the Powakaddy looks great, I really like the gunmetal metallic frame colour which gives the product a premium feel before you even use it.
The Motocaddy S1 trolley has been given a make-over for 2019, it includes updated styling and graphics including the new graphite colouring. It’s a simple and clean look that makes you think the trolley will be really easy to get up and running.
Powakaddy C2i GPS vs. Motocaddy S1: The technology
With the Powakaddy C2i GPS the main new feature is a fully integrated GPS. This provides distances to the front, back and middle of the green as well as providing yardages to hazards.
The 2.8-inch full colour widescreen display clearly shows all yardages and provides sharp viewing in all weather conditions. It also tracks how many miles you have walked, which I really liked as an additional feature.
The new lithium batteries are the thinnest and highest energy on the market. They also feature unique Plug ‘n’ Play TM technology, which means golfers don’t have to deal with fiddly connectors when connecting the battery to the trolley.
The PowaKaddy C2i GPS has received Quiet Mark accreditation, an international stamp of approval recognising technology that has been designed to reduce noise and I have to say it was extremely quiet when testing.
Other features of the C2i GPS include a USB charging point, scorecard holder and a compartment for balls, tees and pencils.
The stand-out feature of the Motocaddy S1 trolley is the ‘Quikfold’ mechanism designed to make the trolley simple and easy to use by allowing it to go up and down in one smooth motion.

The S1 also features a new super-lightweight Lithium battery which can be left in the battery tray for both charging and transportation. Motocaddy are taking all the fiddle and hassle out of an electric trolley here, which is great news.
The Easilock bag-to-trolley connection system is a real winner – it allows any Motocaddy bag to connect directly onto the trolley and snap into position to prevent the bag coming loose and moving around.
A new high-resolution, sunlight-resistant LCD screen is featured in the handle of the trolley for easy viewing in all conditions.
The trolley also includes a powerful, super-quiet 200W motor, a soft-touch ergonomic handle and fully-adjustable bag supports.

Powakaddy C2i GPS vs. Motocaddy S1: NCG verdict
Both these trolleys are great premium products but offering slightly different things to the consumer.
The Powakaddy delivers on its promise of being a compact trolley and folds down smaller than any other trolley I’ve used. This is really important for me as I travel a lot but also key if you don’t have much room in your car to fit a large trolley. Its compact nature doesn’t mean you compromise on usability. It is extremely sturdy and easy to control on all terrain.
The GPS is also extremely useful if you play a lot of new courses or play on a course with blind approach shots. However if you already own a separate GPS this additional feature may not be necessary and does push the price of this trolley up.
If you’re looking for a top of the market trolley and feel you will benefit from a GPS, this is a great piece of kit.

The Motocaddy trolley is really easy to use, is super-lightweight and the styling looks great, especially when paired with the new Aquaflex bag. This trolley is definitely the easiest of the two to put up and down which is a really important feature for lots of players.
If you want something that is really simple and easy to set-up but it also sturdy and performs great on the course, put this on your list of trolleys to try before you buy.
