You know what you’re getting with Galvin Green – style, substance, and sustainability. Hannah Holden picks out her favourite from the new GameDay range

Galvin Green 2021

The new Galvin Green GameDay collection is a seriously impressive line-up.

Are you sitting comfortably? There are 14 Gore-Tex jacket options, five waterproof trousers, 16 windproof jackets, 28 sweaters, 38 polo shirts, and – somehow – much much more. It’s safe to say there really is something for everyone.

The women’s line-up has also been expanded with a number of new styles and additional colourways in existing offerings. There are some lovely new shirt and skort combos that I have my eye on already.

And finally we have a junior range that mirrors much of the men’s collection and – look away now, traditionalists, features a hoodie.

Let’s take a closer look…

Galvin Green 2021: The technology

As we’ve come to expect from Galvin Green down the years, they have packed a serious amount of tech into their latest apparel launch.

Jackets have been made more flexible thanks to “super-stretch” inserts in the back which means you won’t be restricted in your swing, while the Alpha waterproof trousers have a “slide-and-glide” lining which reduces friction and stops them catching on your golf trousers underneath.

And the new Action jacket has strengthened fabric on the lower back and shoulders to add extra durability for those of you who carry your golf clubs. They really have thought of everything.

Even the hoodies have necklines designed to remain stationary during the swing so you get style, performance and comfort.

And once again we have a strong eco theme from Galvin Green as this line-up features more recycled and sustainable materials than ever before. In fact around 70% of the garments are now produced using environmental Bluesign-approved or certified by Oeko-Tex 100 fabrics. Which is nice.

Galvin Green 2021: NCG favourites

You can see the full range on the Galvin Green website but I’ve picked out a few of my favourites to showcase.

The different textures and colours on the panelling really light up the Action jacket.

I said I had my eye on a shirt and skort combo and the Mira is to die for. I love the mixture of stripes in the patterning and the waistband and collar detailing.

Who doesn’t love a good bit of quilting on a jacket? The Duke jacket is also made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. Sustainability and style – what’s not to love?

And a golf wardrobe is not complete without a gilet and the Lisa is ticking all the right boxes for me.
