This is an intriguing 2 in 1 golf gps and music device that can be used together or separately. Being able to use in on and off course makes this a versatile product worthy of consideration

The Mileseey GeneSonic Pro Detachable Golf GPS Speaker is the world’s first 2-in-1 portable Bluetooth speaker, combined with a detachable handheld golf GPS device.

Is this genuinely plugging a gap in the golf market or is it all a bit gimmicky and surplus to requirements?

I took it out on the course to test out and though initially perplexed for the need for such a device it slowly won me over and found it to be fantastic piece of kit for both on and off course use. Read more about it with my full MILESEEY GeneSonic Pro Detachable Golf GPS Speaker review…..

NCG SUMMARY

This is first of its kind golf speaker/handheld gps device is very unique. The speaker can be used on the golf course to play music or off the course, meaning that is multi purpose. The built in GPS can be kept in the cradle or can be detached and used as a handheld or clipped onto a golf bag.

The buttons on the side and the 3″ color touchscreen are very easy to use. Setting up the course or connecting your phone was very quick and simple.

The screen provides a clear detailed display of the holes. It comes with over 43,000 preloaded courses.

First Impressions

The concept of a speaker with a golf gps built in was something that has never crossed my mind. Taking it out of the box for the first time I was intrigued about the whole product.

To start with, it’s a pretty weighty device coming in at 1050 grams. But, with that said it feels incredibly durable which is what you need from a device that is going to be out on the golf course. In fact the Mileseey GeneSonic Pro is dust-tight and capable of withstanding rain and wet conditions.

It also comes with a pretty sizeable magnetic built in, with 126 N (≈ 28 lbs) of magnetic attraction (if that number make’s sense to you).

The GPS device is really easy to remove. The ring at the bottom means you can just pop it out and back in fuss free.

NCG Review

First of all, this speaker was very easy to connect to my phone. Once connected the music quality was pretty impressive. I’ve now used this when out practicing at my golf club as well as when I’ve just been sat in the house. It is programmed to have three different listening modes including, golf mode, for outdoor spaces, home mode for indoors and party for enhanced low-end presence.

Not only does the GeneSonic Pro produce music, it also provides audible front/centre/back-of-green yardages. This is handy as it saves time going to find a yardage yourself. However, the GPS does also display these numbers for visual reference.

The GPS is a pretty smart bit of kit in its own right. Displaying all of information a golfer needs to navigate a golf course. As shown below in the picture, you can select specific areas to get a distance to such as hazards, giving lay up numbers.

The GPS doesn’t require a phone connection or subscription. It connects directly to satellites for instant yardages for over 43,000 course maps preloaded.

The Genesonic Pro comes with a pretty impressive battery life. It can complete up to 3 full 18-hole rounds or 15 hours of music at 50% volume. So far I’ve used this most days over the week to play music as well as taking it to the course for 9 holes and it’s still going strong with power.

Charging is pretty easy with the option to charge the GPS on its own or the device as a whole. This is done via 30W PD fast charging through a USB-C cable.

NCG Verdict

There is no doubt this product is targeted at buggy / cart users but for those that carry it is still a great piece of kit that you can get use on course (via just using the GPS unit) as well as off course (as a speaker when practicing or just in the house).

Overall, this a great two in one product. If you’re a music lover/golf fanatic this is the perfect product for you.
