Additionally, the performance with the driver in hand was equally as impressive with strong distances on offer. I’ve always been under the impression that you can’t go wrong with a Callaway golf ball and that is the case again here with this latest offering.

Callaway Chrome Tour Golf Ball Review: First Impressions
Callaway have actually made this available in numerous different alignment options. These different options include Triple Track and Tour 360 visuals for improved accuracy on the greens. Having a range of alignment options allows golfer’s too choose their preference for optimal alignment.
NCG Verdict
One of the standout qualities of this ball I thought was its exceptional short-game spin. Pitch shots consistently produced high spin numbers, which averaged around 7,700 RPM with an optimal 27-degree launch angle. This is near the upper limit for tour-calibre balls for my game, which allowed for excellent stopping power on firm greens.

The Seamless Tour Aero Urethane Cover helps to deliver this consistent ball flight and reliable spin characteristics on the green. For both on and off-centred strikes
With a 7-iron, the Chrome Tour maintained an impressive spin profile throughout testing. It averaged over 6,000 RPM, which contributed to a better control and a steeper descent angle when hitting into the putting surface. While distance wasn’t the longest in its category, the average being at just 161 yards, the height and spin make it ideal for precision iron shots.

Distance off the tee also wasn’t an issue with this golf ball. The Callaway Chrome Tour is equipped with a Hyper Fast Speed Core which works to deliver a blend of distance and the firmer than that of the standard Chrome Soft.
Callaway’s core design helps to enhance the energy transfer for the quicker ball speeds for the strong performance with the driver but retain the softness for the short game.

As you can see from the data above, when it came to distance, I found the Chrome Tour holds its own. I was able to record a 278-yard carry and an average total distance of 300 yards, which competed well with other leading tour balls I have tested.
The low spin off the driver, which operated at around 2,300 RPM, helped to optimise launch and roll-out. Resulting in the extra distance I was able to squeeze out of my drives. Additionally the 120-foot peak height ensures a penetrating flight without excessive ballooning for stronger distances.
