Callaway Chase Dry ’25 Stand Bag Review: NCG Summary

NCG Summary
The new Chase Dry from Callaway is a fully waterproof carry bag, with waterproof zips and 3k waterproof fabric.
Most waterproof bags I’ve previously tried have been pretty heavy to carry whereas the chase dry is just less than 2kg, so just felt like a normal carry bag weight.
The straps had plenty of padding, which was great. There is also a four way top and seven storage pockets!
PROS
- Fully waterproof
- Lightweight
- Plenty of storage
- Leg’s have a strap
CONS
- None
First Impressions
This was my first Callaway golf bag in a while and the Chase’25 looked very sleek. I tested the all black version and really enjoy how plain it looks, even down to the blacked out Callaway print. If you’re someone who seeks a little more colour then this bag does come in three other colourways.

Picking this up I was impressed with how light it was. I’ve tested waterproof golf bags before that feel much heavier. Callaway hasn’t used a thick heavy duty material but a lighter 3K waterproof fabric, meaning that it weighs in at just under 2kg. Each of the pockets has a waterproof sealed zip with a thicker coating which feels very secure.
NCG Verdict
I’ve been looking forward to testing a golf bag as my current one had definitely seen better days with the shoulder padding wearing away. So, when I got this Callaway carry bag on it felt so comfortable to have fresh padding on my shoulders. And, padding there was! There was plenty of foam packed into the straps and back area, which made carrying it pleasant.

When it came to loading this bag, the four way club divider was roomy enough to fit all 14 clubs. There was also a nice soft material to prevent shaft damage.
Onto packing the bag, there was so much room! This Callaway stand bag has 7 pockets, including an oversized apparel pocket and lined waterproof valuables pocket. I liked that the drinks pocket was a decent size and it wasn’t a struggle to squeeze my bottle in like it can be with some bags.

I tend to use a carry bag all year round for the ease of being able to carry but I do also like the option of using a trolley in summer. With my previous bag I found myself trying different ways to keep the legs together so they didn’t interfere when on the trolley. Callaway has this issue covered, adding in a strap to keep the legs secure. Having used into on both a Powakaddy and Motocaddy trolley for rounds I can confirm it sat well.
There is also an umbrella holder on the outside of this bag which is very handy – as well as a velcro glove patch. Off the bottom of this is a plastic towel ring, a great place to attach a rangefinder case or a Spurk Mat.

The great thing about a waterproof golf bag is not having a scramble around when it starts raining looking for bag covers. Typically, I’ve taken this bag out on more wet days than dry at the minute and so I’ve had plenty of time to test it out in the rain. The water just ran straight off the bag and the sealed waterproof pockets did a great job at keeping everything inside the bag nice and dry. Callaway does offer a one year waterproof warranty with this bag.
