Ping Vic trousers review: First impressions

Ping’s Vic are slim leg, tapered 7/8 trousers. Like traditional golf trousers these have a fly fastening and a button. The design is also complete with very handy belt loops and 4 pockets. The back left pocket also has a zip that is very handy from stopping your belongings from falling out when swinging or bending down.

Ping offers these trousers in both black and white, with each having a black and white strip on the rear of the waist band. They also come in a slightly bolder ‘flamingo’ pink shade, with a pink and white striped rear waist band. The pressed crease on the front makes these cropped trousers look very smart.

Ping Vic trousers review: On course testing

From first trying them on, to getting them out on the course I really enjoyed how stretchy these trousers were. Bending down to line my ball up on the green or putting a tee in the ground was a breeze.

As a UK 10 in bottoms, these fit around the waist nicely. The rear striped part of the waist band is elasticated allowing for some wiggle room. If you’re hesitant about sizing the added belt loops provide some reassurance that you can tighten them if needs be. Being 5ft 9 these 7/8 length trousers sit more like 3/4’s. Unfortunately, they are only offered in a standard length however I still think they sit nice and don’t might the length.

The Vic trousers are very practical having 4 pockets. The back left pocket has a small zip which is great for added security. I did however find myself avoid this pocket as getting my hand in was tight and the zip itself was very scratchy.

Having been caught in a light rain shower the polyester material allowed the trousers to dry off quickly. This was the same after washing and the material was almost crease free too after drying out on the line.

Ping Vic trousers review: The 19th hole

These trousers are great if you’re looking for a smarter pair of cropped trousers, perhaps for work or generally. However, in comparison to similar options they’re fairly pricey.
