They are at their most useful during the summer months, but sunglasses are one of the most useful golf accessories out there. For when the sun is setting on a night or during a hot summery day, you may need that extra bit of protection.
There are plenty of types on offer and few are as sporty looking as Adidas’ SP0070 sunglasses. So, let’s see how they perform out on the course.

They are comfortable and secure when playing. The lenses also feel extremely sturdy, so should hold up pretty well in different conditions.
You will need to pay a little extra for these Adidas sunglasses as they do come with a premium price tag.

First Impressions
I’m a fan of the black colourway scheme. I think it looks professional, as well as being a more sporty style of sunglass. Having this appearance, gave me that addtitional confidence that I could feel they were suitable to wear on a golf course.
The half rim frame type also adds to the sleekness of its appearance. Upon wearing them for the first time, the actual frame legs felt more sturdy than previous sunglasses I have owned and worn. That was a big plus, especially when they are to be used sportingly on the golf course.

I have to say, I normally don’t go for sporty style sunglasses. Usually, I tend to prefer to buy more square/rectangled frame sunglasses for their casual wear – like the Nike sunglasses I reviewed recently. Saying that, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed testing these Adidas SP0070 sunglasses.
I love the traditional look and style. It has a minimalistic look and I think they will appeal to the more traditional minded golfer, who goes for more established golf apparel.
As far as on course testing went, they were seamless in their application performance wise. The fit was very comfortable and the lenses were extremely effective in combating against the sunlight. Additionally, for performance gain, they still offer a great sense of perspective, which was great for putting.

I found I was also able to read the greens with the same confidence and accuracy as without sunglasses on. That’s always a big apprehension of golfers of all abilities when wearing a pair of sunglasses, but that doubt was quickly put to rest here.
They felt high quality and the robustness to them justifies the pricing of them in my opinion. Although, they can be quite a pricey proposition in you don’t play a lot of golf and don’t get that extra use out of them.
Overall, I found these golf sunglasses to be a good option as a golf wear choice. You don’t really feel them when you have them on due to their lightweight frame, and they perform well to offer good performance benefits.
The price is a tad high and a big commitment for a pair of sunglasses, but in relation to other sporty styled sunglasses, it isn’t that unreasonable. The style also won’t be to everyone’s taste as it could restrict casual wear opportunities.
