Beyond aesthetics, Titleist’s attention to feel and sound is second to none. Strikes from the center feel incredibly soft. Upon impact produces a crisp, premium sound. It’s a driver that inspires confidence and demands precision.
The Callaway Elyte TD, on the other hand, offers a compact and aggressive profile. The deep face is a hallmark of Callaway’s Triple Diamond series, designed for players who want a powerful, low-spin strike. The black matte finish and subtle Elyte badging make it stand out, giving off a more modern and performance-driven aesthetic compared to the GT3’s traditional look.

As you can see from the data above I found that both drivers were neck-and-neck in terms of ball speed and smash factor. Titleist GT3 edged out a slight advantage in carry and total distance during standard testing.

However, when a mishit was removed, Callaway actually outperformed it in raw distance. If you’re looking for pure distance on centred strikes, Callaway’s Elyte TD has the edge.
I found the GT3 was the more consistent performer, as it produced a tighter dispersion and more reliable numbers across all shots. The Elyte TD had a bigger drop-off on when I mishit a strike. To maximize performance you will need a more precise ball striking.
If you’re an elite-level player who consistently finds the middle of the face, Callaway might offer higher gains, but Titleist offers more reliability for everyday play.
Both drivers had almost identical spin numbers throughout my testing, with just an 11 RPM difference on average. The GT3 produced a slightly more consistent launch, while the Elyte TD’s weight-forward design kept launch angles lower and spin in check.
I think players who prefer workability and shaping shots may enjoy the GT3’s slightly more neutral flight, whereas the Callaway excels at keeping spin low for max rollout.
Overall, the Titleist offers a classic, tour-proven design with exceptional sound and feel. There is also added forgiveness on off-centred strikes and consistent performance under pressure. It is a a well-balanced club that feels natural through the swing and a driver I think that golfers can trust in competitive rounds.
As for the Callaway Elyte driver it is an option that has maximum distance potential, especially on centre strikes. It has a heavier club feel, which provides powerful feedback at impact and a compact, aggressive shape with a deep face for maximum control. I think it is ideal for a low-handicap player who rarely mishits the driver.

All in all, I found this head-to-head battle is extremely close. Ultimately, I believe it comes down to personal preference and play style.
For the majority of golfers, the Titleist GT3 is the safer pick. It’s consistent, easy to control, and still delivers top-tier performance. For aggressive players seeking distance above all else, the Callaway Elyte TD shines—but only if you can handle its demanding nature.
At the end of the day, both drivers are incredible options, and a proper custom fitting will ensure you get the best performance out of either. Test both, check your numbers, and go with the driver that helps you hit more fairways and lower scores.
