Under Armour has released one of its most ambitious golf shoes to date. The launch of the Drive Pro Clone aims to solve one of the game’s most persistent footwear problems, and that is an inconsistent fit.
It is built to move with the golfer’s foot rather than forcing the foot to adapt to a fixed shape.
Under Armour are under the impression this has improved the comfort, made the stability better when swinging the club, and helping to produce more repeatable power throughout your round.
Here’s a closer look at how Under Armour has managed to do this…

Under Armour Drive Pro Clone Golf Shoes: The Technology
This golf shoe has already seen competitive golf with both Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen and, most recently, Patrick Reed wearing a pair of their way to victory.
At the heart of the Drive Pro Clone is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper. Unlike traditional leather or synthetic uppers, Clone behaves like a dynamic surface.

The material expands and contracts in response to pressure, allowing it to mould to the unique shape of a person’s foot. Quite ingenious if you ask me.
The Clone upper is paired with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, which is designed to keep the foot stable and supported during rotational movement.
It is a system that works with the adaptive upper to create a more connected feel between the golfer and the ground. This helps to improve energy transfer and more repeatable power.

By allowing the shoe to conform to the foot rather than resisting it, Under Armour claims the Drive Pro Clone offers a more stable platform through impact.
Who knew your golf shoe could be so responsible for your performance on the golf course?
For those interested, the Drive Pro Clone will be available in both spiked and spikeless versions. The spikeless option offers a lighter, more casual profile.
