Square-to-square putters and zero torque putters have made a huge splash in the golf world over recent years. They have been one of the major equipment stories to come out of golf in recent memory. They have redefined how we look at putting and their relevance shows no signs off slowing down.

Odyssey originally joined the party with their successful AI-One Square 2 Square range last year. Now they have a new line-up that will change your idea of what a zero torque putter should look like with the all-new S2S Tri-Hot putters. Odyssey’s new range may have taken the “Square to Square” concept to its most refined form yet.

To find out how, here’s everything you need to know about the latest Odyssey putter line-up that is set to change the game when it comes to zero torque putters…

Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Putters: The Technology

The big design story here is balance. By positioning the hosel spud on the topline, closer to the face than traditional Zero Torque models you see from the likes of L.A.B, Odyssey delivers a more natural setup at address. It’s a look and feel that the traditionalists amongst you in particular will appreciate. It also offers greater confidence and connection through impact.

To achieve this, Odyssey blends aluminium, steel, and more than 140 grams of tungsten. This heavy use of tungsten allows more than 80% of the putter’s total mass to sit directly under the topline. In turn, it creates the stability required for the forward CG configuration.

The AI-Dual face insert is designed using AI, hence the name. The new dual-layer urethane insert features a soft outer layer for feel and a firmer inner layer for consistent ball speeds across the face. The result is enhanced forward roll and superior feedback, no matter where you strike the ball on the face of the putters. Odyssey believe this is the best performing insert to date and their best feeling one.

New for the S2S Tri-Hot putter range is the Forward Roll Design Groove. It is a deeper, more aggressive pattern with a 19° slope. Working in tandem with the AI-DUAL insert, it generates improved forward roll across the entire face. This helps to deliver the kind of precision roll technology that tour players demand. And if it’s good enough for them, then it’s surely good enough for us.

Additional inclusions are the new Pistol Plus grip. It takes inspiration from the most-used shapes on tour. It’s mid-sized with crisp edges for enhanced face awareness and comfort. The shaft of choice is the Black SL 120 shaft. It is a tour-developed black PVD model, which is both heavier and stiffer than the previous SL 90, ideally suited to this head design.

Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Putters: The Line-Up

The Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot range consists of four putters. The four putters are, the Rossie, the #7, the Jailbird and the Jailbird Cruiser.

Each putter is equipped with the new Crosshair Alignment aid that is specifically designed to complement entire shafted design. The design utilises a cross shape as it helps to engage the brain’s pattern recognition centres more efficiently.

Odyssey S2S Tri-Hot Putters

In short, what Odyssey has done is design a series of zero torque putters that all golfers can set-up square, aim square which stay square naturally.
