Callaway’s new Apex Ai150 irons are here, and they might just be the best players’ distance irons the brand has released to date. Building on the successful legacy of the Apex Ai200 and Ai300, the Ai150s promise to blend ball speed, control, and feel in a head-turning, forged package.

Here at NCG, we are big fans of Callaway’s previous Apex iron sets. The Ai200 irons were highly praised for their the sound and feel of these, with our review team going as far as claiming they were some of the best feeling players’ distance irons on the market last year. The Ai300 irons were a little more club golfer friendly but they still looked amazing and our review team noted their impressive consistency.
Here’s everything you need to know about the latest addition to Callaway illustrious Apex iron range…
Callaway Apex Ai150 Irons: The Technology
The Ai150 continues the Apex evolution by refining the forged hollow-body construction that we have all grown to love. Sitting between the Ai200 and Ai300, these irons are designed for golfers who demand tour-style control with a bit more tech and forgiveness built in. With their advanced shaping and premium materials, Callaway has very much targeted the better player who still wants help on off-centre strikes with these irons.

At address, the Apex Ai150 ticks every box for a players’ iron. The compact, clean profile pairs with modern shaping to deliver a confident look. Inside, the clubhead is forged from soft 1025 carbon steel, creating that buttery-smooth feel elite golfers crave.
To optimise performance across the set, Callaway uses a 455 high-strength steel face cup in the longer irons, 3–7 and switches to a 17-4 stainless steel face in the shorter, scoring irons, 8–W. The result is faster ball speeds. This helps to deliver distance and more precise control where it matters most.

The star of the show is the new Ai10x Face technology, a data-driven design that fine-tunes face thickness across the hitting area to maximise consistency. This translates to more repeatable spin numbers, tighter dispersion, and more control from any lie. Whether you’re attacking a front pin or trying to flight a shot into the wind, the Ai150 irons are built to deliver.
The Ai10x Face pairs with a players-preferred shape and loft package to cater to skilled ball-strikers who want to shape shots, manage trajectory, and dial in distance.
