What golf balls did the leading players at The Masters play with? We kept track so you didn’t have to!

Well, The Masters 2025 will live long in the memory – words cannot do it justice. History, emotion, and total drama – it had it all. En route to Rory winning his first green jacket it felt he won it 5 times and lost it 4!

At the end, Rory did it via a play off and by winning the green jacket completed the grand slam of golf – all with his TaylorMade TP5 golf ball! But what other balls did the top 5 have in play and how did it change over the week?

Masters champion Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland celebrates on the No. 18 green after a sudden death playoff against Justin Rose of England to win the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club, Sunday, April 13, 2025.

What balls did the top five players tee up at the Masters 2025? Below shows what the final five were teeing up and how it changed throughout the week. Titleist was the dominant ball throughout but it was TaylorMade that finished on top courtesy of Rory McIlroy

Top 5 Golf Balls Used At The Masters 2025

1) Rory McIlroy – TaylorMade TP5

golf balls used at the masters

Rory definitely put his TaylorMade TP5 golf ball through the wringer – double bogeys, birdies, eagles and trips to the water! But in the end he birdied the play off hole to win.

2) Justin Rose – Titleist 2025 Pro V1x

Justin Rose followed his 3rd round 75 with the lowest final round – hitting his Titleist Pro V1x sixty six times, which included 10 birdies.

Ultimately he came up short in the play off but it was more a case of Rory winning the play off than Justin losing it.

He recently switched to the Titleist Pro V1x as he felt it provided more control and better trajectory.

Check out what else in is Justin’s bag. Read the NCG Titleist 2025 Pro V1x golf ball review for more info.

3) Patrick Reed – Titleist Pro V1x+ prototype

Some of you might be surprised Patrick Reed finished 3rd – mainly because he hardly featured on the TV coverage. But after 4 days he only finished 2 shots behind Rory and Justin.

His ball of choice currently is the Titleist Pro V1x+ prototype golf ball, having previously used the Pro V1. This golf ball has been specifically designed for a bit more spin for tour pros.

4) Scottie Scheffler – Titleist Pro V1

Amazing to think Scottie Scheffler had a somewhat indifferent Masters 2025 tournament yet he hit his Titleist Pro V1 golf ball just 3 more times than Rory McIlroy.

His ball of choice is the Titleist Pro V1 prior gen model – currently a bit cheaper than the 2025 iteration!

=5) Bryson DeChambeau – Titleist 2025 Pro V1x

It is fair to say that Bryson faded away somewhat on the final day. Though he started well and briefly led The Masters he struggled with his irons and putter for most of the day and so had to settle with a joint 5th spot.

Bryson has switched to playing the Titleist 2025 Pro V1x after using the Pro V1x Left Dash to take him to US Open victory in 2024.

Check out what else is in Bryson’s bag. Read the NCG Titleist 2025 Pro V1x ball review for more info.

=5) SungJae Im – Titleist 2025 Pro V1x

Similar to Patrick Reed SungJae went unnoticed but finished just four shots back from Rory McIlroy.

He was the only top 5 player who did not feature in the top 5 on any of the previous three days.

His choice of ball is also the Titleist 2025 Pro V1x.
