Payntr X 003 F Spikeless Golf Shoe: First Impressions
First up, let me concede I am a big fan of the Payntr shoes – you only have to read my previous review on the X 001 Mesh spikeless golf shoe.
As such, on receiving he box I was like a kid on Christmas day, eagerly opening the package to see what was inside.
On opening the box I was not disappointed – yet another superb looking golf shoe that ticked all of my preferences. Sporty look – tick; subtle branding – tick; eagerness to put them on – double tick!
I would have preferred an all black shoe, rather than the white heel, but that is just my personal preference and all in all is a great looking shoe.
Now let’s get on to the review – (N)eed to know, (C)ourse performance and (G)ive us the verdict – as easy as NCG!
Need To Know
As stated in previous reviews, if you read the blurb on the Payntr website you might think you are reading a different language. It is not very often, if ever, I ever use the phrases – TPU propulsion plate, traction in three dimension, single density PMX foam, neverwet superhydrophobic solution and ortholite footbed – to describe footwear.
In an attempt to translate this all, I think all you need to know is – these golf shoes feature a lightweight and water-resistant microfiber upper for support and comfort. With a special outsole for great traction and a cushioned midsole that provides energy return, they’re designed to keep you comfortable and stable on the course.
There is no doubt that the upper part of the shoe is more substantial than its 001 Mesh cousin – it feels like there is more support there and so less like a slipper and more like an all weather supporting golf shoe.

How true is this? Let’s move on to course performance.
Course Performance
My initial reaction to putting on the shoes was twofold.
Firstly, they felt more substantial than the 001 Mesh model with my foot feeling way more locked in. The comfort was still there but there was an added feeling of security – something that is definitely welcome when it comes to wet weather or winter golf.
Secondly, the laces were very short – for me, they could do with being a little longer in order to make the tying of the laces easier. This is a minor quibble but was something I noticed when doing them up.
Once on, the comfort level is exceptional.
The cushioning provides support on and off the course – so much so I wore them for an entire morning whilst watching the kids playing football in the mud and rain. Pic below putting them through a thorough test…
Back on the golf course, the traction is also impressive, giving me confidence with every swing without worrying about slipping.
They are easy to clean post round and a great winter / waterproof shoe option.
Give us the verdict
As a fan of Payntr golf shoes, I can confidently say they’ve become my go-to choice. The seamless blend of performance and aesthetics has won me over.
Right now, these shoes are available at 30% off, priced at just £69.99, making them a fantastic buy. They perfectly complement the X-001 Mesh spikeless shoes, which are also on sale for £69.99 – which could mean you have a pair for the summer and a pair for the non-summer months.
If you are only looking at having one pair of golf shoes to wear whatever the weather then the X-003 Fs are an excellent choice. I even tested them out during outdoor Padel sessions, and despite me hardly moving like Usain Bolt, they handled slippery autumn and winter conditions with ease.

Overall, the X-003 Fs are a top-performing golf shoe both on and off the course.
So, why did I give them 4.5 out of 5? It’s simply a matter of personal preference; the white heel design didn’t quite resonate with me, as I would have preferred an all-black option.
Nevertheless, there’s no denying these shoes excel in comfort and performance – highly recommended.
