First Impressions
I have been an infrequent user of rangefinders to say the least, waging my own little battle against technology and showing defiance in working out my own yardages and club choices.
But with the Mileseey PF1 Pro rangefinder, I found it easy to use, easy to carry and a welcome addition to my golf bag when I used it out on the golf course.
In terms of first impressions, I loved the black case that I carried it in on the golf course. It clips on to your bag handily, and it only took a flip of a flap to have it in my hands to use for the next shot.
Before I dive into its performance, I want to talk about the colour scheme. It is a nice, satisfying grey and I also liked the size of the rangefinder too. It wasn’t a dominating presence when in its case and attached to my golf bag. In my limited experience with rangefinders, I have found them to be hassle to carry, but this couldn’t have been further from the case with the Mileseey PF1 Pro rangefinder.
On-course testing
What I think Mileseey focus on, and what I think is one of the best parts about using this rangefinder, is the pocket-sized nature of it. In an age when we all have golf bags full of balls, tees, umbrellas, ball markers and everything else, this really is no hassle to have in your golf bag.

It also doesn’t weigh anything either, relatively speaking of course. The rangefinder boasts accuracy to a yard, and I certainly didn’t have any complaints with the numbers I was given.
Although I enjoyed the lock vibration, I only really found this useful when locking on to pins, as opposed to hazards such as bunkers or to the corner of bushes and gorse, for example. This might just have been an issue with my unsteady hand, but on one or two occasions, I needed a few attempts to lock on to targets that weren’t pins.
I did like the red/green LED display. With products like this, I think the numbers and each other variable in the scope needs to be clear and with standout colours, I think Mileseey have achieved that with the PF1 Pro rangefinder.
For top players playing in top events, the slope function is important, and Mileseey provides a slope switch indicator, so that you don’t fall foul of the rules of golf if you’re playing under conditions which prohibits the use of slope. I think this represents good attention to detail and, although it is something you might find in most rangefinders, I still appreciated it.
The Mileseey PF1 Pro rangefinder can give you yardages within a third of a second, which is great. But is it a victim of its own speed? As the rangefinder delivered the numbers so quickly, I felt compelled to double and triple-check the yardages. I don’t know if this is a me problem or a rangefinder problem but, like I say, I didn’t have an issue with any of the numbers that I eventually picked up.
The clarity of a rangefinder is something every one should look for, too. You are essentially using a binocular, so there needs to be clear vision between where you are stood and your target. It has a 7.5 degree point of view and 90% light transmission, and this much is clear when you use it.

As much as this level of clarity should be a given with a product like a rangefinder, I did markedly notice how clear the lens was and I was quite impressed and this completed the Flag-Lock with vibration feature. I wasn’t able to test the IP65 Waterproof feature as fortunately, I am yet to use the rangefinder in the rain.
I did use it in wind however, and I think the lightweight, small construction of the Mileseey PF1 Pro rangefinder must help in strong breezes. It didn’t weigh much in my hand as I aimed it at my targets in the strong wind, so I think this must help despite the simplicity of this features.
It is the simplicity and the box-ticking of basic features that makes this rangefinder so functional.
NCG Final Verdict
I not only think that this product performs well on the golf course and has many helpful features, but this all adds up to the value of the product too.
At around £200, this is a reasonably priced product and competitive in this particular market. It is a sum of all of its parts: the lens is clear, the vibration feature gives you clarity as to when you have found the correct yardage, and the colour scheme gives you certainty as to what you are looking at.
It is light and small and easy to carry either in your pocket or in your golf bag.
