First impressions

There can be few more handy garments to own than tops like these – they are hard-wearing, easy to care for, comfortable to wear, don’t take up much space in your bag/wardrobe/boot and pretty much go with any outfit.

You can even wear them as an underlayer. They are also ideal for general outdoor activity away from the golf course.

And most of all – they are really warm. What’s not to like?

Let’s deal with the technical element. Galvin Green describes the Daxton as “a fully thermal Insula garment designed to provide unmatched comfort and warmth with Insula technology.

“Insula garments are made from 90% polyester and 10% elastane, designed to offer maximum comfort and freedom of movement during play.

That more or less sums it up.

It is the kind of garment that makes you feel like your muscles are warm enough to allow you to swing with freedom and at full power.

On-course testing

I first wore the Daxton on a chilly but bright day.

Like most Galvin Green pieces, you just don’t feel like there is anything in your way when you are swinging. Ideal.

And it would be just as useful when out going for a walk.

You can also wear the Daxton Insula sweater underneath a coat if you are outside for a few hours.

You will get plenty of wear out of this.

The 19th hole

This Galvin Green Daxton Insula sweater is a wardrobe staple in the winter months. The kind of top that you get out in October and basically stays at the top of the drawer until about May. Given the quality of the garment and its versatility, you will surely find it very good value.
