PXG’s latest putter aims to simplify putting for all types of players. So how can they claim this? They say it all comes down to physics…
The Technology
Let’s have a look at how the Allan putter helps work with a player’s grip. The putter’s patented Zero Torque Balance Technology eliminates torsional forces, which normally work against a golfer’s grip in traditional putters during their putting stroke. If you can ever feel the putter face twisting open or closed when putting, or like you have to hold the putter firm to keep the face square, you are fighting torsional forces in action.

Often, players are unable to consistently maintain a square face through impact, resulting in pushed or pulled putts. The new Zero Torque technology means this isn’t the case. Players will be able to deliver the face square more frequently, enabling more accurate putts. This will work for players with all stroke types.
The Zero Torque balance is delivered largely via a new hosel design. The putter has a letter S-hosel that orients the shaft axis just above the centre of gravity. This means the club has a toe-up balance point, helping with stability and preventing the club face from twisting during the player’s stroke.
While designed with five degrees of measured loft, the Allan Putter plays like standard three degrees due to an integrated two degrees of forward press. The forward press puts the hands of a golfer into a natural position relative to the face of the putter to counteract the onset hosel.
The Zero Torque Balance Technology design is supported by a multi-material, S COR™ filled, hollow body construction and Precision Weighting Technology.

The hollow body repositions mass to the putter’s perimeter to help give the putter more forgiveness and drive up the MOI. Again, this helps with accuracy, control and consistency on off-centre strikes.

Forgiveness is also enhanced by the use of a lightweight polymer, Proprietary S COR™ Technology, means the putter has the thinnest club face found anywhere. More feel can be extracted over the club as a result of this feature.
Golfers are also promised to be treated to a pleasing sound as they attempt to roll a putt in. The Pyramid Face Pattern makes this possible. It creates a soft sound but also a solid feel similar to that of a milled putter. Something that is really helpful for all golfers, but particularly higher handicappers, as it aides in more consistent putting performances.

The base of the putter also features a new feature to ensure picking your golf ball up it quick and easy. The PXG Allan Putter features a Pick Up Pocket that allows golfers to use the underside of the putter to pick up their golf ball. No need to strain your back with this putter.
