Zebra offer plenty of premium putters, here are some of the best for you to check out this season.
There is no shortage of competition when it comes to putters in golf. Zebra are certainly one of the more experienced competitors having sprung to prominence when Ray Floyd used a mallet offering to win the 1976 Masters and was further in the golfing spotlight when Nick Price won the 1994 Open with using a Zebra putter. The brand currently has two collections available, the Milled Series and the AIT Collection.
In this article we take a look at the best Zebra has to offer. If you are looking for a putter change this season then you have come to the right place as Zebra offer a bit of everything and we have already tested them out.
Whatever your demands are, we have listed something for you…
This putter is brilliant for players who need some assistance when lining up. The Zebra stripe system works brilliantly helping you aim properly on those crucial putts inside of 6 feet.
The two external weights increase forgiveness and help keep the ball running at the right speed, and online when miss-hit.
Zebra have brought back their iconic look on a popular head shape making this putter a great option for players looking for a change.
This is a traditional Anser-style blade putter made from a single billet of carbon steel.
It offers strong alignment assistance allied to a classic design. It also offers fantastic value for money, even being less than half the price of some of its competitors.
This is a smart looking full mallet putter made from a single billet of carbon steel.
There is an option for face balanced or toe hang in this model. I think this certainly ly offers something different from most offerings on the market and the crisp feel at impact is a real positive.
The first big change Zebra made with the new generation of putters is changing the head colour from S silver to black, and it was a brilliant decision. The grey and white alignment lines contrast really well against the black, and it makes it really easy to point the putter in the direction you want to hit it.
Everything about this putter feels to be built towards helping you aim better and hit more putts online, one of the essential 3 skills you need to be good at to be a great putter.
I putted great with the Zebra AIT 3, and although I have played with a blade style putter for many years it would definitely be an option for me, especially if my short putting went off the boil with my old Ping Zing.
Pros:
Easy to aim correctly
Good performance on miss-hits
Adjustable
Cons:
Alignment lines on the top of the head are very thick and don’t match up with the line drawn on the ball

Over the years, I must have put over a hundred blade-style putters behind a ball, in the search for the perfect model. Some seem to offer immediate and easy alignment, and some just don’t look right. The prominent alignment lines of the 004 put this very much in the former category (which is good).

I also found distance control easier to achieve compared to the 004, probably due to the more forgiving head shape.
All in all, this is a well-constructed and designed putter with a premium look and it does provide a quality alternative to the usual suspects , and it also comes in at a reasonable £249.99 which is almost half the price of some competitor brands.

I quite liked the crisp feel offered by the carbon steel head (with no insert). Being a mallet shape, there was more forgiveness than from my usual blade putter. I found distance control and alignment to be very straightforward. I was also happy with the standard 2x10gm weight option in the head. I was so excited that I put the 001 in my bag for a trip to the Lisbon area for 4 rounds of golf just to sharpen my game for the season ahead.
I did like the easy alignment offered by the design and I was able to obtain good end-over-end roll of the ball, which in turn offers good distance control.
Pros:
Premium look
Helpful alignment lines
Choice of weights
Cons:
Crisp feel not for all

On the course I felt that the 003 offered straightforward alignment for all types of putt, and I’m definitely in the camp that prefers some sort of alignment assistance when putting.
In summary, its not hard to see why Zebra are known for their premium putters. Whether you are a fan of blade or mallet putters there is an option for you. The traditional blade styling of the Zebra Milled Series 004 Putter offers a throw back look to the putters of old but with all the modern technology. If you are a fan of the double wide look then look no further than the Zebra Milled Series 003.
On the other hand, the Zebra AIT 3 Putter is a fantastic option that helps with alignment that is now available at a reduced price.
If feel is what you prioritise most then the Zebra Milled Series 001 Putter will have you strutting your stuff on the greens this season.
