Bingo Bango Bongo Golf | How To Play

What is Bingo Bango Bongo and how do you play it? Here’s what you need to know about this fun golf format

A game that mixes things up on the course with quite the name to match. Bingo Bango Bongo is a fun, points-based golf game that can be played in groups of two, three or four players.

In this entertaining yet tactical game, three points are up for grabs on every hole, with each point corresponding to the completion of a different achievement on each hole.

To gain points and win Bingo Bango Bongo, it’s all about being first, which ultimately means playing smart and precise golf.

How to play Bingo Bango Bongo Golf

Three points are available on every hole, so there are 54 points in total for a full round. The points are awarded in the game for achieving the following:

Bingo: 1 point is awarded to the first golfer to land their ball on the green
Bango: 1 point is awarded to the golfer whose ball is nearest to the pin
Bongo: 1 point is awarded to the first golfer to hole their ball

At the end of the round, all the individual points are added up and the player with the most is declared the winner. With so many points up for grabs, it’s therefore crucial to keep track of the scoring hole by hole.

The format of Bingo Bango Bongo can help level the playing field between all levels of golfers. This is because the player who hits it the shortest will have the first attempt at hitting the green and earning the ‘Bingo’ point. Similarly, the player furthest away on the green gets the first putt, giving them the first shot at the ‘Bongo’ point.

While fun, strict etiquette must be enforced regarding order of play. Given that Bingo Bango Bongo is all about being first, whichever golfer is furthest from the hole must always hit first in order to keep things fair. The honour on each hole must also always be adhered to, especially on par-3 holes – so no Ready Golf here!

Stick to that and Bingo Bango Bongo is an exciting game that can be enjoyed by all golfers, producing a fun change to the usual stroke play and match play formats.
