You’ll definitely be getting a room with a view if you are the successful buyer of this North Yorkshire ‘home’
This spacious property has got everything the discerning buyer will ever need. A four-bedroom bungalow, a one-bed studio, and an 18-hole golf course and clubhouse!
Spofforth Golf Course and Manor Farm could be yours after the North Yorkshire was listed for sale – but you’ll need to have a spare £2 million lying around.
That’s the guide price for the pay-and-play centre, which is being offered by HMH Golf & Leisure along with Knaresborough agents Lister Haigh.
So what are you getting for your cash?
Spofforth Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,176-yard par 72 course, with a six-bay driving range and clubhouse, that’s found between Wetherby and Harrogate. NCG’s own assistant equipment editor Jack Backhouse, a PGA Golf professional, is on hand for lessons.
It also comes with a four-bedroom bungalow, a one-bed studio, and a range of farm buildings within the 130 acre “undulating and part-wooded property”.
If you’re needing a mortgage, though, it might take you a while if you’re only relying on green fees alone to pay off your investment. With a weekend price of £20, it would take 100,000 rounds to clear your debt.
‘Spofforth Golf Course’s potential… is obvious’

You might need to be quick, though. Plenty of interest is expected for Spofforth Golf Course, which celebrates its 30th birthday next year.
“While Spofforth Golf Course’s potential for commercialisation is obvious, this attractive property will undoubtedly also appeal to buyers seeking a rural, ring-fenced property for residential, amenity or other uses,” said Ben Allen, of HMH Golf & Leisure.
“HMH currently has 11 golf courses under offer at various locations around the country and, as always, expect strong interest in Spofforth Golf Course.
John Haigh, of Lister Haigh, said: “Spofforth Golf Course/Manor Farm offers an incredible opportunity to purchase land and property of a scale that is rarely seen in a location this close to Harrogate.
“As interest in the Golden Triangle’s property market continues to thrive, seizing the chance to invest in Spofforth Golf Course/Manor Farm presents the potential for substantial returns or the prospect of a forever home.
“The property offers highly versatile features to suit a range of purchasers. The rich history has already demonstrated the flexibility the freehold has to offer and with ever growing land uses such as carbon capture and woodland creation the future is bright for the listing.”
