This is a new spikeless performance footwear model that is designed to enhance stability, traction and comfort whilst preventing any foot fatigue. Adidas say this is aided by a lighter all-round design as the brand wants golfers to be made aware that light isn’t always less, it’s more.
Following on from many of Adidas golf shoes, these lightweight shoes are designed to look sporty and athletic. Shoes for those who tend to wear more modern styled golf clothing.
Here’s a deeper dive into the technology and benefits from one of golf’s biggest apparel brands latest offering…
In the development of these golf shoes and to build upon the success of the ZG footwear franchise Adidas conducted some research to learn that golfers average 162 hours per year on their feet. Therefore, the brand has introduced some new technologies to provide golfers with a lighter shoe to keep each round enjoyable and pain free.

These additions include a lightweight traction which has seen new lightweight undercut lugs added along the perimeter of the Spikemore outsole. This is designed to increase lateral stability and adaptive traction for comfort on all terrains and course conditions.
We’ve all been there when we have blamed the uneven surface for bad shots. A secondary cone-shaped traction system helps golfers eliminate this danger out on the course by feeling more flat on uneven surfaces.

Adidas also say players golfers will feel more comfortable and closer to the ground after they combined Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro cushioning in the midsole. The Adidas ZG also features a moulded heel cushion for enhanced lightweight comfort. This addition was inspired by the running shoes and delivers a softer padding.

Other technological advances include a newly designed Dynamic Torsion plate in the outsole to help with the transfer of energy and power through a golfer’s swing. The medial side of the outsole are now curved and softened to also help aiding footwork through the golf swing.

This Dynamic Motion design the shoes adopt arch support to help with smoother walking around the golf course.
As part of the Adidas Adizero ZG range, a BOA model for men and women has been added for a better fit. Adidas have created a Primeknit sock-like construction so that golfers can easily slip the shoe on and off. It also offers a more athletic and cleaner look on the course.
