What’s in Alex Levy’s Portugal Masters winning bag?
Titleist Ambassador Alexander Levy put the new 915 driver, fairway metal and hybrid into play to clinch the rain-affected Portugal Masters.
The Frenchman was 18 under par after two rounds which was enough to seal his second European Tour title this season.
The Titleist 915 range which features the active recoil channel technology, has been put play by over 100 players on professional Tours around the world.
Levy’s winning equipment included the Pro V1x golf ball, 915D3 driver, 915Fd fairway metal, 915Hd hybrid, MB 714 irons and Vokey Design SM5 gap and lob wedges.
Levy was joined towards the top of the leaderboard by Pro V1x loyalists Nicolas Colsaerts and Felipe Aguilar, who completed a clean sweep of the top-3, finishing second and third respectively.
The performance excellence of Titleist golf balls also made them the choice of the majority of the field, with 85 players choosing either a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to 16 for the nearest competitor.
I played really well over 36 holes. Eighteen under par for two rounds is a very good score" Elsewhere, on the LPGA Tour, Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Shanshan Feng played a six hole stretch of the back-9 in 6-under par, en route to winning the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by three shots.
After his win Levy said: “It’s not the same as 72 holes, but I’ll take it.
“It’s a win and I played really well over 36 holes. Eighteen under par for two rounds is a very good score.
“It’s a little bizarre because I’ve played four shots at the weekend and won the tournament.”
