Cobra King Oversized Irons: Everything you need to know!
The new improved KING Oversized irons are once again poised to be true game-changers…
Cobra has launched all-new King Oversized irons, featuring Cobra’s largest iron head and largest ever sweet zone.
Coupled with improved performance technologies, the oversized profile delivers an easy to hit iron without losing any forgiveness or control.
It was over 20 years ago in 1994 when Cobra released their first set of oversized irons and watched them quickly become the game’s best selling irons.
With the reintroduction of the King Oversized irons the brand believe they could once again become true game changers for higher handicappers.
Cobra King Oversized Irons: The Technology
The irons feature what Cobra call PWRshell face technology which keeps the the centre of gravity low for easier launch. The thinner, lighter face and sole structure helps produce faster ball speed.
A full hollow body construction helps to deliver a soft sound at impact, higher launch and more consistency.
The 100 percent milled face improves groove structure for maximum spin control.
The V grooves on the 4-6 irons lower the spin whereas the U grooves on the 7-PW irons help increase spin to guarantee more controlled shots into the green.
Cobra have also managed to save weight through the multi-material cavity construction, featuring a new aluminum medallion badge which is positioned by tungsten weighting in the toe. This helps create the low CG in the oversized head.
“The oversized head will provide golfers with even more speed and distance from centre and off-centre,” said Jose Miraflor, Cobra’s senior director of product marketing.
“Really the key to distance is lower CG, which is a big challenge when you create a larger iron. Our multi-material cavity construction and strategically placed tungsten weighting in our King Oversized irons allows us to place CG lower, which ultimately delivers more speed and higher launch.”
