Golf Betting Tips – Arnold Palmer, LIV Hong Kong and more…

Bay Hill, Hong Kong, Feather Sound… There is plenty going on this week in the world of golf, but who are our betting tips for glory?

There are events on all the major tours this week, including a Signature Event, Aramco Team Series and LIV Golf, but who are our betting tips for the week’s golf?

Following the Monday finish at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, there are two events on the PGA Tour this week. The Arnold Palmer Invitational is the big one, and the fourth Signature Event of the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, the LIV Golf League moves from Jeddah to Hong Kong, with the Asian nation hosting a LIV Golf event for the first time.

Who will win? Matt Coles takes a look at this week’s action…

Arnold Palmer Invitational golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando, Florida, United States
Date: March 7-10, 2024
Course stats: Par 72, 7,466 yards
Defending champion: Kurt Kitayama (-9)

Ludvig Aberg @ 20/1 with bet365

It feels like the sort of week where the Swede takes another step in his incredible career to date. Ludvig Aberg already has wins on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, and he is only 20/1 to win a Signature Event for the first time.

Jason Day @ 40/1 with bet365

jason day golf betting tips

2016 Arnold Palmer Invitational victor Jason Day is in good form recently, and returning to a venue where he has tested success before. The Australian has top-ten finishes in his last two outings – at the AT&T Pebble Beach ProAm and the Genesis Invitational. 40/1 says he wins again at Bay Hill.

LIV Golf Hong Kong golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Hong Kong GC, Hong Kong, China
Date: March 8-10, 2024
Course stats: Par 70, 6,710 yards

Following a stunning performance from Joaquin Niemann in Jeddah, as the Chilean won for the second time in the 2024 LIV Golf season, the LIV Golf circus makes the journey to Hong Kong for the first time in its history!

Bryson DeChambeau @ 14/1 with bet365

If it had not been for a poor second day in Jeddah, Bryson DeChambeau would surely have been battling for the title. He was 15-under combined on Friday and Sunday, but a 3-over-par 73 on Saturday knocked him out of contention. His final round 62 was by far the best in the field, and if he brings that form to Hong Kong, he’s the man to bet on this week!

Adrian Meronk @ 20/1 with bet365

The Polish star has been in good form recently, following his move from the DP World Tour to join the LIV Golf League. He has top-ten finishes in the last two events – in Las Vegas and Jeddah – and following his DP World Tour Player of the Year 2023 campaign, Meronk could well secure a first victory on the PIF-backed league this week.

What else is going on in the world of golf this week?

There is plenty of other action going on this week, with the Ladies European Tour, LPGA Tour, DP World Tour and a secondary PGA Tour event all happening!

The Arnold Palmer Invitational is not the only event on the PGA Tour this week. With the API being a Signature Event, the rest of the tour field take to Puerto Rico.

The DP World Tour remains in South Africa after Jordan Gumberg’s victory at the SDC Championship. This week sees the Jonsson Workwear Open, while the LPGA Tour stays in East Asia with the Blue Bay LPGA in China.

Finally, the Aramco Team Series returns for its first event of 2024. The first of the five-tournament series takes place in Tampa Bay

Who will take victory at these tournaments? Check out our picks for success below…

Celine Boutier @ 17/2 to win Blue Bay LPGA with bet365

It’s not exactly a long shot… However, after a runner-up finish at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, Celine Boutier’s form puts her in play for the title in China. The Frenchwoman has a victory in the last four months and is one of the favourites to take another this week!

Daniel Berger @ 22/1 to win Puerto Rico Open with bet365

In just his fourth event back after injury, Daniel Berger could well get back into the winners’ circle on the PGA Tour this week. The Puerto Rico Open has a weakened field due to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the former World No 12 could use that to his advantage. He is 22/1 for victory in Puerto Rico.

Nick Bachem @ 80/1 to win Jonsson Workwear Open with bet365

It is very rare that you will see the defending champion of a tournament be as high as 80/1. Nick Bachem is at that level this week and he should definitely be in your thoughts for the win again at the Jonsson Workwear Open. The German had missed three cuts in a row, but a T4 finish on Sunday at the SDC Championship has brought him back into form. 80/1 – it’s worth it!

Charley Hull @ 6/1 to win Aramco Team Series – Tampa with bet365

Englishwoman Charley Hull has won three times on American soil, and she is also a previous winner in the Aramco Team Series, with a victory in New York back in 2021. Hull is one of the favourites for glory at Feather Sound this week.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
