Leopard Creek plays host to the Alfred Dunhill Championship this week, but who takes the victory?

DP World Tour golf remains in South Africa this week with the Alfred Dunhill Championship, but who are our betting tips for glory?

An illustrious list of players, including Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Ernie Els and Charl Schwartzel have all won this event in the past.

Who will win in 2023? Matt Coles gives us his tips for victory at Leopard Creek this week.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout @ 16/1 with bet365

With home winners at three of the first four events of the DP World Tour season, I am banking on another at Leopard Creek.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout won this tournament in 2020, and he has had an upturn in his recent form, including top-20 finishes in the last two South African events.

He is 16/1 to take the victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship for a second time.

Best of the rest…

Dean Burmester: The LIV Golf man has certainly made the most of his allowances on home soil over the last two weeks, winning both the Joburg Open and the Investec SA Open Championship. He is the favourite at 6/1 to go back-to-back-to-back.

Charl Schwartzel: To complete the trio of South Africans, I have gone for Charl Schwartzel. He did not have the best of years on the LIV Golf tour, but Schwartzel is a four-time winner of the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Could he make it five this week? 25/1 says he can…

New Zealand’s Ben Campbell has been in great form in the last few months, with four top-ten finishes in his last eight tournaments. That includes a win at the Hong Kong Open on the Asian Tour. Campbell is 16/1 to win at Abu Dhabi GC on Sunday.

Lexi Thompson & Rickie Fowler @ 10/1 to win the Grant Thornton Invitational with bet365

Lexi Thompson golf betting tips

Both Lexi Thompson and Rickie Fowler have been on the comeback trail this year. Fowler won on the PGA Tour for the first time in four years, while Thompson has recovered her form after struggling in the early part of 2023. The pair are 10/1 to win in Florida.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
