The Rose Ladies Series was set up in 2020 by Ryder Cup star Justin Rose and his wife Kate. It was set up to provide a comeback for professional golf in the United Kingdom following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Justin and Kate put their name and money behind the series, which has since gone from strength to strength, and is now into its fifth year!

When setting up the series, 2013 US Open champion Rose explained: “I am keenly aware that I now have the opportunity to go back to work and compete on the PGA Tour but this is not the same for the ladies and some junior tours as well.”

Rose Ladies Series schedule and results

2025

Monday, 28 April: West Lancs, Liverpool

Winner: Chloe Williams

Wednesday, 30 April: Southport and Ainsdale, Liverpool

Winner: Lydia Hall

Friday, May 2: Formby Ladies Golf Club, Liverpool

Winner: Megan McLaren

Tuesday, May 6: St. George’s Hill, Surrey

Winner: Hayley Davis

Friday, May 9: The Buckinghamshire, Denham

Winner: Hannah Screen

2024

For the third year in succession, the Rose Ladies Series returned with a five-event schedule, all piled into a two week stint in April.

Again, the north west of England and the London area were the host regions, with three events at iconic locations on the north west coast.

Event 1: West Lancs
Cancelled due to inclement weather

Thanks to storms rolling through the area over the days prior to the tournament, and then winds of up to 65mph on the day, the decision was taken to cancel the event at West Lancs for the safety of everyone involved.

Winner: Billie-Jo Smith

Event 3: Southport & Ainsdale
Winner: Cara Gainer

Event 4: Sunningdale (Old)
Winner: Emily Toy

Event 5: Walton Heath (New)
Winner: Hayley Davis

The lowest score of the year came in the final event at Walton Heath. Hayley Davis put together an incredible round of 64 to shoot 8-under-par, winning on the New Course in comfortable fashion.

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
