What’s in Shane Lowry’s WGC-Bridgestone winning bag?
Shane Lowry relied on his four Cleveland RTX 2.0 wedges to get up and down from some tight spots on his way to a maiden WGC victory at Firestone CC.
The Irishman managed to keep the chasing pack at bay in the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational which saw him card a bogey free 66 to win by two shots ahead of Bubba Watson.
Lowry used a combination of the Srixon Z745 and 7545 irons showing that even the world’s best are looking for a bit more forgiveness in the longer irons.
Lowry, who moves up into 19th in the Official World Golf Ranking, also had four Cleveland RTX 2.0 wedges and the new Srixon Z-STAR X golf ball.

The win is Lowry’s third on The European Tour and moves him into fourth place in the Race to Dubai standings.
He has also secured full playing rights on the PGA Tour for 2016.
“I can’t believe it,” Lowry said.
“I played as good a golf as I’ve ever played the last four days. My Irons are more consistent and my confidence with my wedges is as high as it has ever been and I know that this win moves me a step closer to one of my goals of playing in the Olympics next year.”
One of the highlights of the final round came at the par four 18th when he hit a 120 yard 52 degree 588 RTX 2.0 into the green and rolled in the 10 foot putt to win.
