Juniors invited to join Telegraph championship
Golf clubs are being invited to host a qualifying event for the Telegraph BMW Junior Golf Championship, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The championship, hosted by Quinta do Lago, is one of junior golf’s ‘majors’ and there is a chance for everyone to get involved.
Any golf club in the UK or ROI can hold a qualifying event and it is free to enter.
In the gross competition, the winning junior from each qualifying event will win a prize and be entered on to the national leaderboard. The 21 finalists of 12 boys and nine girls will compete in the 2015 final.
Juniors can participate in as many participating rounds as they wish in a bid for their place in the finals, which take place at Quinta do Lago, Portugal, from October 12-17.
In the net competition, the winning junior from each qualifying event will win a prize and be entered on to the national headboard. The top boy and top girl from this leaderboard will win a trip for themselves and a chaperone to the final, which is held at Quinta do Lago from October 15-27.
Hendicap restrictions of 28 for boys and 36 for girls apply and competitors must have been under 18 on January 1 2015.
