US Open golf: 10 things you might not know about Rose
1) He was born in Johannesburg in 1980 and moved to England aged five
2) He swung his first golf club – albeit a plastic one – in his back garden aged just 11 months
3) He broke 70 for the first time aged 11 and was playing off a plus-one handicap by the age of 14
4) He enjoyed a stellar amateur career, winning the under-16 and under-18 English Boys Stroke Play Championship in 1995
5) He also played in the Walker Cup in 1997 as a 17-year-old
6) He has lived in Orlando since 2004 and has founded his own charity – the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation, a scheme that provides aid for local children
7) His father Ken passed away in September 2002 and is remembered via the Ken Rose Foundation
