After a one-week absence the PGA Tour returns at Conway Farms Golf Course, Illinois.
Having been introduced in 2007, this event replaced the Western Open – with this event being only surpassed in age by The Open and the US Open – which dated back to 1899.

The course is said to have been designed in the mould of a Scottish links course – so expect those who performed well in the weeks leading up to and including The Open earlier this summer.
Only top-70 in the FedEx Cup standings will be present in the field, so there are some enticing prospects for you lucky punters this week.
With the standings being recalculated after this event – and the top-70 being cut to the top-30 deciding the Tour Championship field next week – expect a few unlikely faces towards the upper end of the leaderboard in Illinois.

Our picks
Zach Johnson – 22/1
A winner here in 2013, and of course the eventual champion at St Andrews earlier this summer. Has had some poor form on the putting greens since he was victorious at The Open – he’s not struggling elsewhere so expect the American to challenge for second BMW title.
Hideki Matsuyama – 35/1
The classy Japanese player started well at St Andrews , but faultered slightly with conditions becoming increasingly difficult. Despite this Matasuyama managed an 18th place finish. One of the best young prospects on Tour, definitely one to watch this weekend.
Chris Kirk – 110/1
Our final pick is the twice winner on the PGA Tour this year – Chris Kirk. He suffered a wrist injury midway through the summer and missed several weeks as a result. A good week could see the American move up the FedEx cup standings and gain him a place in the Tour Championship – he is currently 37th in the standings.
