Make life easier on the greens with this pace putting drill
Did you know that from 3-10 feet, for every inch further away you are, the make rate drops by 0.7%? That’s why it always amazes me when I hear people saying they aim to hit their putts a foot and a half past the hole. In this putting tips video, I’ve set up a pace drill that I think will help…
Pace putting drill: The main points
Between two holes, set up stations with two balls at each starting from about three feet.
In the video, you’ll see Andy start with the long putt up the hill before turning to hit the short one to the opposite hole, trying to get both to finish deadweight.

From there, he’ll work through the stations, uphill and downhill, with the intention of hitting each putt pin high.
If you start with the intention of hitting putts beyond the hole, and then hit it too hard, you’re going to leave yourself more of those horrible knee-knockers coming back. And nobody wants that.
Want to see how Andy got on? You’ll have to watch the video…
