Top Casino Golf Courses: Unveiling the Best Resorts for Golfers

Although the world’s biggest casinos are located in Las Vegas, there are some amazing resorts outside Nevada. Some of these establishments love golfers.

And they have pristine golf courses where you can play the game if you want to take a break from the gaming floors. In this guide, we’ll unveil some of the best casino golf courses from around the world. Let’s dive right in.

The UK

Golf originated right here in the UK. And that means one thing. Casino resorts in the country have long, interesting histories. They’re outstanding by design, well-polished and unique. Look at these three historic golf resorts:

  • The Gleneagles Hotel

Commonly called the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Gleneagles is a prestigious casino resort that opened in 1919. It has three luxurious, championship-level golf courses.

The courses are the King’s and the Queen’s course and the PGA Centenary Course. Then there’s Scotland’s only two-star Michelin resort, an award-winning spa and 232 lavish rooms.

  • The Manor House at Celtic Manor

Scotland is known as the home of golf thanks to resorts like the Manor House. It’s majestic, elegant and features more than one championship golf course. The Manor House has three courses, one of which hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Away from golf, Celtic Manor is a truly beautiful resort. It comes armed with all the amenities you might need while on your break from work: private rooms; spas, a gym, a swimming pool and family-friendly activities.

  • Mar Hall, Renfrewshire

The Earl of Mar is a picturesque 18-hole course designed by Dave Thomas—a famous architect. Thomas designed this course to provide incredible views of the Kilpatrick Hills and the quiet waters of River Clyde.

Canada

Canada is a sports-loving nation with more than one million registered golfers. Interestingly, many of the country’s courses are located in the southern region. The weather close to the US border is more habitable.

  • Stoney Nakoda Resort and Casino

Located in Kananaskis, Alberta, Stoney Nakoda Resort is a golf hotel tucked at the bottom of the Rocky Mountains. It’s famous for its beautiful views of the mountain ranges, its affordable hotel rooms and modern amenities.

Whether you’re visiting the hotel for a weekend vacation or a business meeting, feel free to check out its 18-hole golf course. There are other casino resorts in Canada. But few of them provide the stunning views you’ll experience at Stoney Nakoda.

  • Fallsview Casino

Fallsview is one of the most famous casinos in Canada. It’s located near Niagara Falls and mainly serves tourists visiting the falls. While it’s beautiful and packed with stylish rooms, let’s talk more about golf courses near the resort.

There’s Legends on the Niagara. This place has two 18-hole courses built on the same place where a battlefield took place in 1812. This explains why one of the courses is named Battlefield. The second course is called Ussher’s Creek.

Another popular golf course located next to Fallsview is the Grand Niagara Golf Club. It’s ranked amongst the top 50 best golf courses in the country and the best golf course in the Niagara Falls region.

  • St. Eugene

Located in British Columbia, St Eugene Golf Resort and Casino has a long history that dates back to 1912. Initially, it was a boarding school for First-Nation Canadians.

Today, St Eugene is a famous casino with 125 carefully designed guest rooms and an excellent golf course. The entire facility occupies 300 acres of land. It features beautiful grasslands, old oak trees and pristine views of the Rocky Mountains.

The USA

The USA is home to some of the biggest and most prestigious golf courses in the world. Also, there are more golf resorts in the USA than in the rest of the world combined. That being said, let’s focus on golf courses owned by casinos:

  • Fortune Bay

Fortune Bay Minnesota caters to four kinds of people: golfers, gamblers, RV campers and general customers. If you like golfing, your first destination will probably be the resort’s award-winning golf course.

The course is nestled between Lake Vermillion and a forest of gorgeous pine trees. While the course is huge and forested, you’ll be glad to know that all carts are GPS-enabled for easy tracking.

Away from the golf course, you can indulge in a boat ride, eat steak in the evening or play slots and blackjack. The resort is open 24 hours during the weekend, ensuring you have as much fun as you want.

  • Riverside Casino and Golf Resort

If you live in Iowa or have plans to visit the state, check in at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort. It has 900+ slot machines and over a dozen table games. It also comes with common amenities like a salon, golf course, spa and swimming pool.

If you like to play golf, pay attention to its 18-hole golf course. It’s not the most iconic golf course in the country. Nonetheless, the Blue Top Ridge course is calm, green and beautiful.

  • Shadow Creek Golf Club

They say the best casinos are located in Las Vegas. Shadow Creek is a case in point. Designed by Tom Fazio at the request of billionaire Steve Wynn, Shadow Creek is unbelievably attractive.

Interestingly, the resort was created out of nothing. It was a desert before Wynn bought the 300 acres of land. Today, it looks green all around, with artificial lakes, hills and greens.

  • Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course

Edgewood Tahoe deserves a visit for its immaculate views of Lake Tahoe alone. However, it provides a lot more than great views. It was recently redesigned by Tom Fazio. It also added a restaurant and bar.

It also features a fully-fledged casino, hotel rooms and essential amenities. It’s a great place to visit if you want to enjoy a quiet, calm hotel surrounded by natural beauty.

Your Turn

There you have it—some of the best casino golf resorts in the world. Some of them are pretty iconic and worth visiting at least once in your life. That being said, our list is not exhaustive. There are a lot more golf resorts in the world, including in countries like South Africa, Mexico and Australia.
