South West: Caravan a welcome sight on course
A Wiltshire club is bringing a touch of American vintage to its course in a move to refresh golfers.
The Manor House, Castle Combe, has purchased a vintage Airstream Trailer, which is going to be used as a halfway house on the course.
Head professional Andrew Ryan said: “The company are all about ‘wow’ experiences, and this really was a wow.”
The trailer will be used as a halfway house throughout the winter and the resort’s Michelin-starred chef Richard Davies will be doing demos from it throughout the summer.
Airstream is the oldest-surviving company in the American caravan industry, having been formed in 1936 by Wally Byam.
The Manor House will also be hosting a night golf event on March 6.
