Jameson Golf Links: A paradise amid Ireland’s beauty

This remodelled championship course is “nothing short of a masterpiece”, writes Lewis Marr

Tucked away in a quiet corner of ‘The Velvet Strand’, one of Ireland’s most stunning stretches of uninterrupted coastline, the Jameson Golf Links emerges as a beacon of golfing excellence, seamlessly blending nature’s grandeur with a meticulously designed golfing haven.

This newly minted gem in the golfing world is nothing short of a masterpiece, offering an experience that transcends mere play to become a symphony of precision, challenge, and natural beauty.

Upon arrival, the stunning panoramic views of the Irish Sea provide a breathtaking backdrop. The course is carefully sculpted into the existing terrain, showcasing a marriage of man-made ingenuity and Mother Nature’s handiwork.

The designers have achieved an enviable balance, allowing the landscape to dictate the flow of the course, resulting in a layout that feels both challenging and harmonious with its surroundings.

The Jameson Golf Links commands attention with its seamless integration of the landscape’s natural features into the course redesign.

Rugged terrain, sweeping dunes, and pockets of marram and fescue are all thoughtfully incorporated, creating a dynamic and visually stimulating experience.

Each hole feels like an adventure, beckoning golfers to navigate through the undulating terrain, constantly presenting new challenges and rewarding them with stunning golf holes.

One of the standout features of Jameson Golf Links is its impeccable course maintenance. The greens are meticulously tended, providing a consistent and true roll.

Fairways are firm, allowing for a satisfying balance between distance and control. Bunkers, strategically placed throughout the course, are well-maintained, with sand that’s a pleasure to play from.
