Sand Valley is the leading golf resort in the entire nation of Poland, and it is the only Polish venue to claim a place on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list. You can easily see why. There is a stunning 18-hole championship golf course along with a 6-hole par-3 course and some incredible practice facilities, while the accommodation comes in the form of beautiful suites, villas and apartments. 

Designed by Lassi Tilander and Tony Ristola, the Championship Course at Sand Valley was laid out as an inland links, making the most out of the sandy turf that the venue was constructed on. There are a number of large waste areas and lakes that certainly take your eye during a round. The 7,150 yard course is one of the longer ones on the list, but when the course plays firm and fast, it is scorable.

The resort is also the home to a 6-hole par-3 course, which is the perfect place for beginners to learn about the nuances of the sport. The driving range has 20 bays and plenty of target greens to dial in the distances, and there is also a short game area on the walk from the clubhouse to the first tee.

In terms of accommodation, Sand Valley has some luxurious offerings. The Pelican Suites & Apartments comprises three buildings, each of which having two suites and two apartments in. These, along with the array of stunning villas - from three- to six-bedrooms - form the accommodation choices at Sand Valley, with it all sitting at the northern end of the resort.

Sand Valley is the proud home to an 18-hole championship golf course. The resort gets its name from the sandy turf that the course has been laid out on, with plenty of bunkers and waste areas waiting for errant shots.

Lassi Tilander and Tony Ristola were the men behind the design of the golf course at Sand Valley, which measures out at more than 7,150 yards from the Cherry tees. Due to the waste areas and the sand base of the turf, the course has been designed as an inland links. Eight holes on the Sand Valley Championship Course feature some form of water hazard as well.

There are lakes on both the 3rd and 4th holes, and between the 7th and 16th holes as well. Those last two play away from the River Waska, which borders the south side of the property. Four more holes play along or towards the river to add just another layer of danger to a round at Sand Valley.

The 3rd hole is the only par-3 on the course shorter than 220 yards from the tips, but with a large lake to the left of the green, there is still plenty to worry about. 10, 14 and 17 are the other par-3s, and they all require a lot of club. The penultimate hole on the course is the longest of the par-3s at Sand Valley, measuring 235 yards. As long as you clear the waste area in front of the green, there is not too much trouble despite it being the longest short hole on the property. 

Along with the Championship Course, Sand Valley is also the home to some stunning practice facilities, from which they run a Golf Academy. The practice areas included a driving range which features 20 covered and matted bays, and a range of target greens at different distances. There is also a short game area between the clubhouse and the first tee of the Championship Course.

Sand Valley is also the home to a 6-hole par-3 course. Sitting at the northern side of the resort, the six holes offer a range of challenges, including different distances. There are an array of bunkers over the six holes, and it is the perfect place for those first learning the game to get out onto the course to learn about the nuances of the sport. 

Lessons are also available from the Golf Academy. Whether you are a beginner who is just learning the fundamentals of the game, or an experienced golfer that wants to fine tune their swing, there is coaching and tuition options for all ages and abilities. 

The range of accommodation at Sand Valley comes in the form of both villas and apartments. There are more than 200 beds at the resort across these two offerings, which can accommodate between two and 14 people. 

The Pelican Suites & Apartments occupy three buildings at the northern side of the property, with each building housing two suites and two apartments. Each suite has a bedroom and a bathroom, while the apartments come with a living space and kitchen, along with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There are also a gorgeous array of villas in the same area of the resort. These range from three-bedrooms all the way up to six-bedrooms, with the largest taking up 260 square metres of the property. Some of the villas come with their own private swimming pool, while there is also a pool in the centre of the accommodation which is shared between all guests. 

Where is Sand Valley located? 
Sand Valley is the only Polish venue on the list, and it sits towards the north of the country. It is located near the town of Elblag, while the big city of Gdansk is around 50 miles to the northwest of the resort. 

What is the nearest airport to Sand Valley? 
Sand Valley’s location means that Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport is the closest international airport to the resort. It is situated to the northwest of the city of Gdansk, around 65 miles from Sand Valley. The airport operates daily flights to the majority of European countries, while there are several flights per week to a number of destinations in the United Kingdom.

What golf facilities does Sand Valley offer? 
As well as the Championship Course, Sand Valley is also the home to a 6-hole par-3 course which is a great place for beginners to learn about how to play golf on the course, instead of the range.

There is a driving range with 20 bays, all of which are covered and play from mats. The short game area sits between the clubhouse and the first tee of the Championship Course, and features a putting and chipping green for players to practise their short game skills. 

Does Sand Valley offer golf lessons? 
Lessons are available from the Sand Valley Golf Academy. Coaching and tuition are on offer for golfers of all levels and abilities, from those who have never played before, to those who want to bring their handicaps down.

What are the green fees at Sand Valley? 
Compared to a lot of resorts on our list, a round at Sand Valley is relatively cheap. Throughout the week, a round will set golfers back €80, while playing on either Saturday or Sunday will cost €100.

What accommodation is on offer at Sand Valley? 
There is a stunning array of accommodation offerings at Sand Valley, with both apartments and villas available for stays at the Polish resort. The Pelican Suites & Apartments are joined together and occupy three buildings, sleeping up to four people. Meanwhile, the villas have a minimum of three bedrooms, with the biggest selection having six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

What other resorts and courses are nearby? 
Sand Valley is the only Polish venue on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list. Penati, Slovakia’s leading resort, is the closest to Sand Valley but that is still more than 500 miles to the south. 

The Mazury Golf & Country Club, Gdansk Golf & Country Club, Postolowo Golf Club and Tower Golf Club are all within an hour’s drive from Sand Valley, if you’re looking to play some other courses in the north of Poland.
