Buenavista | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

Buenavista is one of the resorts on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list to be situated on the Canary Island of Tenerife. With a wonderful year-round climate, that makes Buenavista one of the only resorts on our list that can be enjoyed at any time of year, with golf, pools, excursions and much more on offer.

Situated in the northwestern part of the island, with amazing views over the North Atlantic Ocean, Severiano Ballesteros was the mastermind behind the stunning golf course at Buenavista. Five of the holes play along the coastline of the Atlantic, with any slightly errant shot being drawn into the sea. El Teide, the main mountain of the island, is an incredible backdrop for a round at Buenavista.

Away from golf, there are plenty of other activities for guests at the Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection, which is the hotel that is linked to the Buenavista Golf resort. The 5-star hotel has amazing facilities, and with it being an adults-only hotel, everything is tuned to the needs of those who will be staying at the Hacienda del Conde.

The YHI Spa is on hand to provide the perfect place to relax and unwind on your holiday to Tenerife, with hydrotherapy, massages, treatments and more on offer. There are also excursions, experiences, a fitness centre and much more to provide guests at the Buenavista resort with as much choice as they could wish for.

Buenavista Overview | NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts

A Seve-Designed Course

The golf course at Buenavista was designed by the one and only Severiano Ballesteros. The Ryder Cup legend was the man behind the Par 72 lay-out, which measures at just over 6,700 yards.

That doesn’t sound too long from the tips, but considering that there will always be an ocean breeze, it doesn’t need to be a long course to be tricky.

Ballesteros designed the course in a way that brings the natural surroundings, and in particular, the rock face and the Atlantic Ocean, into play. Five of the holes play along the coastline, and it can sometimes be easy to get distracted by the incredible views.

Buenavista Golf Academy

Not only does Buenavista play host to one of the last courses designed by the great Severiano Ballesteros, but there is also a high quality driving range, from which the Buenavista Golf Academy works out of.

The driving range itself faces to the south, away from the North Atlantic Ocean, and plays up a slight slope. There are both matted tees and grass tees, while there is also a chipping area and two putting greens by the clubhouse so players can hone their short game skills before taking to the course.

The Buenavista Golf Academy runs out of the driving range facility at the resort, and the team of qualified professionals provide personalised tuition for all individuals. They work with both beginners to the game and those advanced players who are just looking to fine tune their abilities.

Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection

The Buenavista Golf Resort is serviced by the Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection as its accommodation, with the hotel being a part of the Melia brand.

The Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection is an adults-only hotel, with only guests over the age of 16 permitted to stay. It is a 5-star hotel with stunning facilities, and those views of both the ocean and El Teide.

The Premier Room is the most standard of rooms at the Hacienda del Conde, with a colonial design and style. Rooms are available with either two single beds or a double bed, sofa and a beautiful private terrace with incredible views.

There are Junior Suites, from which you can also add unlimited golf green fees, and Sea View Suites at the very top end of the Hacienda del Conde. One of those comes with Hydromassage, where you can revel in the immensity of the ocean from the hot tub and disconnect like never before.

The YHI Spa is the wellness offering at the Hacienda del Conde Melia Collection, and its holistic approach to wellbeing offers guests the opportunity to relax and unwind in a glorious setting.

From hydrotherapy, to saunas and steam rooms, to massage and treatment rooms, the YHI Spa is equipped for every guest’s needs. The multi-purpose room is there for pilates and yoga, while there is also a full gym which is equipped with the latest technology, so the fitness goals can be met while on holiday.
