Dalmahoy West

Dalmahoy West

This is the first of two entries for this resort, which also boasts a comprehensive Marriott hotel and a feeling of grandeur as you drive up to the hotel.

It's not quite in Gleneagles or Turnberry class, but you feel pleased to be here as you wind up the driveway between the courses.

The West is totally different from its sister; it is short compared to the East but still needs your full attention - not least because of its smaller greens.

It complements its big sister – which was also designed by James Braid – nicely with a mix of challenging holes that demand accuracy off the tee and a sharp short game.

There is a good mix of shorter par 4s and par 3s that give you a chance of scoring well but also some stringent two-shotters and a par 5 that is the longest hole on either of Dalmahoy’s course.
