The season starts here!

WHAT with the recent spell of sunny, warmer weather weve been having, the clocks going forward and the first womens and mens Majors of the year being played, this is a time of exciting anticipation for golfers across Britain.

One other event that looms large on the horizon is the London Golf Show. Last year many of you visited our stand, and lots of ladies (and even some men!) took advantage of our great subscription offer and signed up to receive Lady Golfer for the year.

As that year draws to a close, I hope that you havent been disappointed with the entertainment we have provided you with.

With interest in womens golf at an all-time high and more young women realising that golf is a wonderful sport to take up, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved with my favourite game.

This years London Golf Show takes place between Thursday April 26 and Sunday April 29 at Londons Excel exhibition centre in the heart of the Docklands.

It is a great place to visit for the day, no matter what your interest in golf.

Whether you are new to the game, a scratch player, captain of a club or a junior, there really is something for everyone.

And for those who enjoy a little celebrity spotting, there will be lots of opportunities with all manner of stars from the worlds of TV, sport and entertainment expected to drop in.

Last year, for example, I sat next to Kevin Whateley, better know as DS Lewis, Inspector Morses sidekick, who was recently on TV with his own show.

For those who like action, there are opportunities to use the giant indoor driving range and try out lots of the latest equipment.

You can test your short game against celebrities and professionals on the purpose-built short-game area, and even pick up tips from putting guru Harold Swash on the huge putting green built specially for the show.

And if fashion is your thing, there are catwalk shows throughout the day with all the latest gear being modelled. Or, if you havent had the opportunity to see trick-shot artist David Edwards in action, then look out for his spectacular show.

For those of you ladies and men! who think of yourselves as big hitters, there are prizes to be won if you can give the ball a good tonk, and for those of you who prefer to play with accuracy more than distance, you can test yourself trying to hit the small green floating in the middle of the Thames!

Finally, if you feel that no day out is complete without purchasing something, American Golf will have a huge retail area to cater for that need and of course there are good catering facilities that you would expect from a top-class venue.

For the 38 years that Ive played golf, there have been lots of golf shows held in different parts of the UK with varying degrees of success.

The London Golf Show is without doubt the best for the public that Ive ever experienced, and I thoroughly recommend it to you.
