Northumberland

Known locally as The Park, Northumberland is in fact anything but. The action takes place alongside and then inside Newcastle's Gosforth Park Racecourse and if this detracts from the views at times it certainly adds to the memorability. Northumberland is assuredly one of those courses that is once played and never forgotten. Originally put together in 1898, this traditional course has undergone several changes and renovations over the years.

In the early 1900s it was Harry Colt who advised on the course’s reconstruction before James Braid offered his expertise after World War One finished in 1918. The result is a very difficult test that requires a full armoury of shots and a sharp short game.
