Ufford Park Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

Golf Dominated by Water

Risk-and-reward holes on a testing championship course with plenty of water hazards. That is what Ufford Park gives you in one complete package. 12 of the 18 holes on the championship course at Ufford feature water, including the opening par 5. Although it is only 460 yards from the yellow tees, which makes it a good birdie opportunity to start with, the water imposes itself on the right side of the last 100 yards.

The 15th at Ufford Park is the epitome of a risk-and-reward hole. It is only 255 yards from the back tees making it a reachable par 4. However, there is a water hazard in front of the green which makes it a dangerous tee shot. The safe play is to bail out right with a long iron or hybrid, though that will only leave a wedge on to the green.

Not only does Ufford Park open with a par 5 but it also ends with a par 5. It is a long hole, measuring more than 500 yards from even the yellow tees. Water and the looming property behind the green making it a tough approach to the 18th green. Thanks to the naturally free-draining soil, the course is usually open year-round as well, making it a great spot for some winter golf.
