Characterised by undulating fairways lined by heather, this Fun Top 100 course is routed along and around several hills with some wonderful inland views.

Your Corrie experience starts by dispensing your green fee in an Honesty Box if the Tea Room next to the 1st tee is closed.

It continues with a short par 3 to a sloping green and then at the 2nd you fire over a marker post to a tiny green that is square in shape – narrow and long – with a bank on the right of a cool complex.

The 3rd is a par 4 of 250 yards playing up towards mountains that are frankly awesome. You hit over a gully up onto a ridge, where the heather is the most beautiful, most purple you've ever see.

There's another distinctively square green, which turns out to be a theme of Corrie, just as it was with many courses established at its inception (1900).

The 4th and 5th are par 3s playing down then (blindly) uphill before the 6th plays to a very elevated green in its own little amphitheatre in the corner of the property.

Corrie is packed into a tight property and its criss-crossing routing is generally a health and safety executive's nightmare but the 7th takes that to a new level as you play across the fairway of the 3rd.

The 8th isn't much 'better', firing across the 2nd and seeing golfers hit their drive on this hole before they hit their putt on the 7th to save trekking back up the hill

The last is more steady fare, a stream winding up the right-hand side and then across the fairway. You really have to gamble with the stream up the right with your drive, though, in order to get a view of the green on the left or face being blocked out by trees.

It could be the last of several blind shots of a round of a mere 1,610 yards that are more enjoyable and memorable than courses of three times the scope.
